We’re excited to welcome our friends from Claud (NYC) to Dunsmoor for one night only this August 7th. We first met Josh and Chase at the Esquire Best New Restaurants party in 2023, where both of our restaurants landed on the list. Their team had just dined at Dunsmoor and we hit it off right away — there’s been a real mutual admiration ever since.

The night will feature a 5-course, family-style menu featuring dishes from both Claud and Dunsmoor, served in our signature menu format. Expect a lively evening of collaboration, good food, and great energy.

SLO Coast Wine Bar Takeover

Dear Friend,

On Wednesday, May 28th, we are thrilled to welcome some of our favorite Central Coast winemakers to the Dunsmoor Bar: Scar of the Sea, Lady of the Sunshine, Âmevive, and Outward Wines for a Bar Takeover, featuring 12 wines by the glass!  These are the wines we love to pour for people who say they “don’t like California wine” - these are fresh, site-specific, low-intervention wines that are thoughtful, expressive, and surprising in the best way.

What makes the Central Coast so exciting - beyond the people - is the climate. Stretching from Santa Barbara to the Santa Cruz Mountains, this region is defined by its coastal influence: fog, wind, and cooler temperatures that keep the wines lifted, bright, and energetic. Here at Dunsmoor, a restaurant rooted in regional American identity, these wines feel especially at home.

Bringing these winemakers together under one roof feels incredibly special. It’s an opportunity to celebrate not only the wines, but the land, the farming and the people behind them. Dunsmoor is proud to host such legendary wine makers. Truly, it’s going to be a party!

Rootdown Bar Takeover

Come hang with us as Mike Lucia pours his Rootdown wines by the glass!

Mike Lucia is no newcomer to the Sonoma wine scene. He has been laying tracks in the world of wine since he first landed in Healdsburg as a teenager back in ‘92. Sometime in the late ‘90s, Mike fell in love with the wines of Burgundy and sought to find a similarly nuanced, terroir-driven experience at home.

The future is bright for Rootdown and Cole Ranch. Since the partnership with Cole Ranch, Rootdown has planted, made and shifted the brand to Jura inspired wines.

He is constantly having fun “making decisions that he shouldn’t make,” and always playing with “What if?”

During this collaborative evening, Brian and Glenn will take you on an educational food journey paying homage to Lowcountry cuisine and incorporating revived ancient grains and native ingredients into a multi-course dinner.

Bar Takeover with Farm Cottage Wines

After growing up on his parents' vineyard in the Santa Cruz Mountains, Winemaker Ryan Alfaro developed a passion for wine. He spent his whole life surrounded by his family’s business, then worked under winemaker Adam Tolmach, to then become the head winemaker for Alfaro Family Vineyards. There’s no place like home.

While honing his skills at Alfaro Family Vineyards, Ryan decided to create his own label, Farm Cottage Wines. The 2019 vintage is the first of Farm Cottage Wines and they continue to grow.

We are so excited to have Ryan visit the bar to take over our By-the-Glass menu and share his wines with you.

Cruse Wine Co. Wine Dinner

We couldn’t be more excited to have Michael Cruse at Dunsmoor on Tuesday, July 23rd. We’ll be diving into 13 (!!!) of his fantastic sparkling and still Cruse Wine Co. wines (maybe some other surprises) alongside a stellar five-course menu created by Brian for the occasion. 

Michael is making some of the most compelling, delicious and uniquely Californian wine, specifically through the lens of sparkling wine. With a focused passion in sparkling wines, Michael founded Ultramarine in 2008. In 2013 he founded Cruse Wine Company, with the goal of making fruit-driven wines that are fresh yet still serious. Focusing on sights in Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino and Contra Counties Michael cares less about making another Pinot Noir or Cabernet. Instead, he’s making single vineyard/single varietal wines using lesser known varieties such as Valdeguié, Saint Laurent and Carignan. 

We’ll be kicking off the night with some bubbles in the bar!
